Vans

In 1966, Van Doren brothers Paul and Jim along with their associates Gordon Lee and Serge Delia founded a brand under The Van Doren Rubber Company in Anaheim, California.

The first model, Vans #44, now known as "Authentic" is out. In the 70s, Skateboarders wearing Vans sneakers are seen throughout Southern California. In 1976, Vans' logo "Off the Wall" made its debut.

In 1977, the Vans "Old Skool #36" launched the famous Vans "Sidestripe" by a simple design of Paul Van Doren. Their "Jazz Stripe" has become the inimitable emblem of the brand.

The same year, with the help of skaters and BMX riders (Bicycle motocross) the Vans #98 also made its appearance, now known an iconic silhouette, the Vans Classic Slip-On became very fashionable in Southern California.

The checkerboard pattern, immediately recognizable, became a phenomenon in one night.

The new look "Sk8-Hi" was introduced in 1978 as the Vans "Style #38" that protects the bones of skateboarders in the park.

For more than 50 years, Vans has continued to build a legacy in skateboarding and has become an icon of California culture.
